The SDA’s strong benefits package offers our employees and their families valuable health and lifestyle opportunities. These include but are not limited to:
Health Care Coverage – SDA offers comprehensive health insurance through the State Health Benefits Program that is available to eligible employees and provides medical and prescription coverage for employees and their dependents. Information on the state health plans can be accessed via the State Health Benefits Program website at www.state.nj.us/treasury/pensions.
Dental Care Coverage – SDA offers a dental care insurance program administered by Delta Dental Plan of New Jersey at no cost to our employees. Employees can elect to insure dependents at a shared cost with the Authority.
Life Insurance – SDA employees are enrolled in the State’s basic life insurance coverage which provides a benefit of 1 ½ times annual base earnings. Our employees can elect additional insurance of another 1 ½ times salary with an employee contribution. This additional coverage is required during the first year of employment.
Pension and Deferred Compensation – Employees are enrolled in the New Jersey Public Employees’ Retirement System (PERS) and may also set aside a portion of earnings on a regular basis in a 457 retirement plan.
Employee Assistance Program – Counseling is available through an external service to employees and their family members for personal and work-related issues.
Workers Advantage Program – SDA employees have access to a variety of discounts and rewards for entertainment, travel and goods through this program.

In addition to the work we do, SDA employees have an opportunity to participate in a variety of programs that give back to the community.
Volunteering at Food Banks
SDA employees volunteer at local food banks during the Holiday season. Whether it be sorting food donations or packaging food, SDA staff lends a hand wherever needed.
Blood Drives
In the summer months, blood banks see a significant decrease in supplies. SDA employees participate in an annual blood drive to help at a time of year when it’s needed most.
Food Drives

School Supply Drives
SDA employees have participated in backpack drives, collecting school supplies that often go to the communities we serve.
