Mott Elementary School

The Mott Elementary School construction project consisted of a new 15,624-square-foot, three-story addition as well as the renovation of 14,312-square-feet of Mott’s existing facility. Designed by Johnson Jones Architects Planers P.A., the addition is located in the paved area in front of the Second Street entrance.

This addition provides Mott Elementary with a media center, a cafeteria, an art room, a music room and a small group instruction room. Renovations to existing space converted rooms for the community service and technology coordinators, special education facilities, a testing room, a student activities room, a parent liaison room, a science room, two pre-k classrooms, and two small group instruction rooms.

The existing paved play and parking areas were re-designed to accommodate a playground, along with a re-configured parking lot and open space. There is a new entrance walk, with grand stairs and a ramp providing access from Second Street.

Ray Angelini was the contractor for the project, Hill International the Project Management Firm.

Mott Elementary was built in 1984 and houses 350 students.

On June 14, 2005 New Jersey Schools Construction Corporation (SCC) representatives joined Trenton Public School District educators, students, city officials and community supporters in a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new addition and renovations at Mott Elementary School. There were tours of the newly expanded and renovated facility, which is part of a major district-wide school construction program.
