The West New York Public School Number 3 opened to students in September 2012. The new 110,120 square-foot facility will educate 705 pre-kindergarten through 6th grade students. The facility was constructed on a 1.61 acre site at 600 55th street and includes 42 general and special education classrooms, a gymnasium, a cafeteria, an auditorium, science labs, a music room, instructional rooms, computer labs and an art room. The former Public School Number 3 facility will be used to temporarily educate students from other West New York schools while those buildings undergo much-needed renovations. Gruzen Samton Architects designed the new school. Prismatic Development Corporation was the general contractor. Turner Construction was the project management firm. |
