This project converted the former AARP Insurance Company office building to provide an 84,000-square-foot, two-story early childhood education center for 600 pre-Kindergarten students. The new Millville Child Family Center has 42 classrooms, a media center, activity rooms, a cafeteria with kitchen, faculty workrooms, security and administration offices and counseling rooms, and three outside play areas with jungle gyms. Becica Associates LLC was the architectural firm for the project; Sambe Construction Company was the general contractor. On April 26, 2005 the NJ Schools Construction Corporation and the Millville School District held a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new facility. Young students and their parents, along with teachers, community leaders and state and city officials, attended the grand opening. |
