The project scope includes 113,196 square feet of phased additions and renovations in the occupied Bridgeton High School, to provide additional capacity to educate 326 students in grades 9 to 12. Additions include approximately 94,000 of new construction to support an Early College HS Education program, a classroom wing addition, cafeteria & gym addition. Renovations are limited to approximately 19,000 square feet of program driven renovations.

CURRENT STATUS - As of May 1, 2026: A rebid for design-build services is anticipated for Q2 of 2026.

(PREVIOUS PROJECT) The school's media center addition project includes a new 6,000 square foot Media Center addition and renovation of the existing 4,000 square foot library. The project also includes an elevator addition for access to the second floor of the school that will make the school compliant with ADA regulations.

The school serves approximately 1,200 students in grades 9 through 12.

Martell Construction Company Inc. was awarded the construction contract July 30, 2008. A Certificate of Occupancy was issued November 12, 2009 following the completion of the work on the project. The project was managed by URS Corporate Group.

Bridgeton High School was constructed in 1952. Health and Safety projects have been completed at the high school and consisted of replacement of all windows and doors. Another project, completed in October 2005, consisted of new heating, ventilating and air conditioning equipment for the auditorium and replacement of the ceiling. The contractor was Bernal Mechanical.
