PROJECT ADVERTISEMENT


On March 18, 2004, the New Jersey Schools Construction Corporation ("NJSCC") will be electronically selecting a short list of firms which will be invited to submit Technical and Fee Proposals for the design of the project(s) described below:

Construction Cost Estimate (for information purposes only): $4,450,000

Prime Disciplines: HVAC Engineering, Plumbing Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Boiler Steam Lines
Rating: $5,000,000 to and including $20,000,000


Provide Design and Construction Administration services for the upgrade of boiler plant in each of the above schools. The design services shall also include identification and selection of hot water heaters for these schools. Work shall also include removal of any underground storage tanks and repair to the affected facility. Prepare two (2) Bid Packages for the installation of Boilers/Water Heaters (three schools one package/2 schools one package). Prepare two (2) Bid Packages for the purchase and delivery of any new boilers, water heaters and controls. If required, prepare Bid Package for Asbestos Abatement and proper handling of Lead-based paint.

In order to be included in the selection process, a firm must be prequalified by the NJSCC in the above disciplines and have a rating between $5,000,000 to and including $20,000,000 on or prior to March 17, 2004.

The Consultant must be a firm prequalified by the NJSCC in the following areas or have sub-consultants prequalified by the NJSCC in the following areas:

  • Architecture
  • Civil Engineering
  • Structural Engineering
  • Environmental Engineering

The bidder agrees it shall make a good faith effort to meet the requirements of the SBE Utilization Attachment contained in the Contract Documents in order to ensure that small business enterprises, as defined in that attachment and in applicable regulation, have the maximum opportunity to compete for and perform subcontracts.

The NJSCC encourages the contractor to provide opportunities to SBE firms to participate in the performance of this engagement, consistent with NJSCC’s SBE set aside goals of 25% with 5% to businesses registered in the category of gross revenues that do not exceed $1 million; and 10% of businesses registered in the category of having gross revenues exceeding $1 million consistent with the standards established at 13 C.F.R. 121.201; and 10% to businesses in either category.
