On November 3, 2003, the New Jersey Schools Construction Corporation ("NJSCC") will be electronically selecting a short list of firms which will be invited to submit Technical and Fee Proposals for the design of the project(s) described below:

Complete design and construction administration services for a renovation of 73,182 GSF on floors B through 2 and associated site improvements. Renovation work will include Architectural, HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, BAS and other low voltage systems, modifications to fire sprinkler system, modifications to existing Fire Alarm system, additional mechanical plant and modifications/repairs to the existing equipment to remain, minor exterior facade work not completed by predecessors, Hazardous Materials Abatement and selective demolition as required to complete the work, exterior site work including playgrounds and landscaping, parking areas, bringing elevator to ADA compliance and other ADA access and code compliance issues where not completed by predecessors, communications and FF&E with more than 10 years of useful life. Project includes acquisition of number of adjacent properties for an estimated total amount of approx. $1MM (not included in the total CCE above), the said properties to be used for playground extension.
In order to be included in the selection process, a firm must be prequalified by the NJSCC in the above discipline and rating on or prior to October 31, 2003.

The bidder agrees it shall make a good faith effort to meet the requirements of the SBE Utilization Attachment contained in the Contract Documents in order to ensure that small business enterprises, as defined in that attachment and in applicable regulation, have the maximum opportunity to compete for and perform subcontracts.
The NJSCC encourages the contractor to provide opportunities to SBE firms to participate in the performance of this engagement, consistent with NJSCC’s SBE set aside goals of 25% with 5% to businesses registered in the category of gross revenues that do not exceed $1 million; and 10% of businesses registered in the category of having gross revenues exceeding $1 million consistent with the standards established at 13 C.F.R. 121.201; and 10% to businesses in either category.
