PROJECT ADVERTISEMENT


On April 5, 2004, the New Jersey Schools Construction Corporation ("NJSCC") will be shortlisting all firms that are both registered as SBE with the NJ Department of Commerce and prequalified by the NJSCC in the Architecture discipline with a rating of at least $3,000,000 to and including $5,000,000 on or prior to April 2, 2004. The shortlisted firms will be invited to submit Technical and Fee Proposals for the design of the project(s) described below:

Construction Cost Estimate (for information purposes only): $4,200,000

Complete building assessment, design and construction administration services for major alteration/renovation of 52,500 square foot building, including new HVAC system, boilers, elevator, finishes, public address system, technology infrastructure and emergency generator.

The Consultant must be a firm prequalified by the NJSCC in the following areas or have sub-consultants prequalified by the NJSCC in the following areas:

  • HVAC Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Plumbing Engineering
  • Structural Engineering
  • Civil Engineering
  • Environmental Engineering

The bidder agrees it shall make a good faith effort to meet the requirements of the SBE Utilization Attachment contained in the Contract Documents in order to ensure that small business enterprises, as defined in that attachment and in applicable regulation, have the maximum opportunity to compete for and perform subcontracts.

The NJSCC encourages the contractor to provide opportunities to SBE firms to participate in the performance of this engagement, consistent with NJSCC’s SBE set aside goals of 25% with 5% to businesses registered in the category of gross revenues that do not exceed $1 million; and 10% of businesses registered in the category of having gross revenues exceeding $1 million consistent with the standards established at 13 C.F.R. 121.201; and 10% to businesses in either category.
