NOTE: The SDA, in cooperation with the Department of Education, conducted a review of all projects previously in the 2008 Capital Plan that were not yet in construction. These projects were closely evaluated using criteria such as educational need, cost efficiency and potential for design standardization. This comprehensive review resulted in the Governor's recommendation to initially advance 10 projects in 2011. In February 2012, the Governor recommended an additional 20 priority needs advance as part of the 2012 Capital Program. The Elementary School Grade Level was identified as a high educational priority need requiring further discussions with the district in order to develop a project to address those needs. The 2012 Capital Program was reviewed and approved by the SDA Board of Directors on March 7, 2012. |
