The Cecil S. Collins Elementary School opened in 1981 and houses 650 students. The facility is an existing one-story 71,000 square-foot building that required renovations to 18,128 square-feet that included demolition and renovation of three existing classrooms into two new kindergarten classrooms and one group instruction classroom; installation of a new HVAC system; the installation of a new telephone/data system throughout the building; and construction of a new facade at the main entrance. KSS Architects designed this project; Hessert Corporation was the general contractor. AFG Group, Inc. provided Construction Management services. The project was completed for a September 2008 opening. |
