SCC acquired this former bank building to provide swing space for approximately 415 students during the high school expansion and renovation project. All four floors where renovated to provide for a stand-alone program for all freshmen. This plan minimizes crossings between buildings, limiting it to afternoon return to the high school for extra-curricular and sports activities. The building contains a multipurpose room for physical education and cafeteria uses, a media center, classrooms, administrative offices and science and computer labs. The site plan has been developed to maximize parking for both this building, and the near and long-term needs of the high school. The Annex was completed and occupied in February 2004. When the high school project is completed the Annex will house administrative offices, a specialized high school for Career Academy programs, and a police sub-station in the former bank’s drive-through area. |
