Green Grove Elementary School expanded by approximately 22,000-square feet. It houses 530 students, kindergarten through grade 5. In keeping with the scale of buildings in the Green Grove area, the addition was built to the rear of the current building and is barely visible from the street. Additions to the project included a new gymnasium, cafeteria, kitchen, special education classrooms, and an expanded parking lot. Renovations to the existing building included creation of a new media/library center, a new computer lab, new classroom ceilings, lighting, cabinets, cubbies and wet areas, additional office space, new nurse’s station and a new heating/air conditioning system. The project was designed by the SSP Architectural Group, Inc. and built by the Imperial Construction Group. Gilbane Building Company managed construction of the facility, which began in August of 2003. The project was completed and occupied in November 2005. |
