NOTE: The SDA, in cooperation with the Department of Education, conducted a review of all projects previously in the 2008 Capital Plan that were not yet in construction. These projects were closely evaluated using criteria such as educational need, cost efficiency and potential for design standardization. The 2011 Capital Program was reviewed and approved by the SDA Board of Directors on March 2, 2011. The SDA will continue to have ongoing conversations with the districts so that their projects may be able to advance in subsequent years. The New Elementary School in Keansburg will be located on Lorraine Place, adjacent to the present Bolger Middle School. The realization of this school will form a campus setting of the two schools and with the high school located within a short distance. The new school is intended to facilitate the reorganization of the District’s pre-kindergarten through 5th grades. This new school will house 424 students in grades 3 through 5 and the district’s Central Offices. The facility will contain 23 classrooms including self-contained special education classrooms, a cafetorium, gymnasium, auditorium and media center. |
