Ignacio Cruz Early Childhood Center

The site for Ignacio Cruz Early Childhood School is located at the intersection of Hall Avenue and Cortland Street. The Architect assumed for the design of this school is VITETTA of Philadelphia, PA.

The concept of the new Ignacio Cruz Early Childhood School is to provide a "community based" early childhood school with shared specialized program spaces, which should be conveniently located within the school for access by both school attendees and residents of the community.

The final design is 65,000 square feet, which can accommodate a maximum of 550 students, all Pre-Kindergarten. The center includes 38 pre-kindergarten classrooms, a speech room, health suite and a multi-purpose room.

On October 1, 2004 New Jersey Schools Construction Corporation (SCC) representatives joined Perth Amboy School District educators, area officials and community supporters to celebrate the grand opening of the new Ignacio Cruz Early Childhood Learning Center – one of the first new schools completed by SCC in the City of Perth Amboy.
