As a part of a health and safety project that was completed in early 2003, Garrison Architects designed renovations and repairs to the Grant Elementary School. The contractor for the project was Wu & Associates. Their work consisted of repairing the existing masonry, repairing and replacing the existing doors, and installing new hardware. The existing asbestos was either covered or removed. New corridor and common area lighting was installed, along with new exit signs and emergency lights. The existing electrical panels were replaced. The building’s heating, ventilating and air-conditioning system was updated. Together, these improvements brought Grant Elementary up to he most current codes for elementary schools in the State of New Jersey, and provide this school’s 460 students with an environment that is more conducive for learning. |
