Description of Project: The new No.4 School is a 126,352-square-foot facility housing 705 students, pre-kindergarten through 6th grade. The facility includes an art room, music room, technology lab, two science labs, and family and consumer science rooms. The school also features a cafetorium, two computer rooms, gymnasium, media center, six small group instruction rooms and an occupational therapy room. It also includes some underground parking. Administrative spaces include nurse, reception main office, principal, assistant principal, conference room, teacher work room, guidance counselor reception, 3 guidance counselor offices, parent liaison, social worker, security office, technology coordinator, parent room, storage vault/storage room and speech therapist. The original No. 4 School is housing students from No. 2 School during renovations to No. 2 school. Vitetta Architects designed the project that was constructed by Prismatic Development Corporation. Notice-to-Proceed with construction was approved and issued January 6, 2005. Turner Construction managed the project. School No. 4 celebrated its grand opening in September 2007. |
