Lincoln High School was constructed in 1920 with an addition added in 1970. The facility is 213,381 square feet and currently houses students in grades 10 through 12.

Dr. Charles T. Epps Jr. Freshman Academy

An existing facility adjacent to Lincoln High School at 2 Harrison Avenue was originally used by the Jersey City Board of Education as their administration building. It also housed at one time the Offices of County Welfare. This building constructed in 1917 has received renovations and an addition to create a 9th grade Freshman Academy.

This project involved the renovation of the existing (approximately) 17,300 square feet of space and the construction of a 24,500-square-foot addition. The boiler system, which also serves the adjacent Lincoln High School, has also been replaced.

The new Freshman Academy is serving as an educational learning center for more than 400-ninth-grade students formerly enrolled at Lincoln High School. The new facility created 29 classrooms, which included 12 special education rooms, three science demonstration rooms, four science labs, and a computer lab.

On February 23, 2005, students, teachers and community supporters joined representatives of the Jersey City School District, the City of Jersey City, and New Jersey Schools Construction Corporation (SCC) for the dedication and ribbon cutting ceremonies for the new Dr. Charles T. Epps Jr. Freshman Academy named for the current Superintendent of Schools. Designed by the Gibson Tarquini Group and built by Bovis Lend Lease, this Academy is one of the first secondary-level facility of its kind to open in Jersey City.

URS Corporation is the project management firm for the Lincoln High School and Freshman Academy projects.
