In the fall of 2003, students moved into a new, 2-story addition to the Woodlynne Elementary School that had been under construction since December of 2002. This 13,000 square-foot, eight classroom addition has increased the school by a full 30% of its original size, and has helped to enhance the education that this school can offer to its 450 students, particularly to the pre-K, Kindergarten and first grade students who are lucky enough to be in the new addition. This addition was designed by Medefindt Architects, and was built by Dolan Mechanical. Gilbane Building Company managed the project. On January 14, 2004 New Jersey Schools Construction Corporation (SCC) representatives joined Woodlynne School District educators, area officials and community supporters at a Grand Opening ceremony for the addition of a new Early Childhood Center at the Woodlynne Elementary School. The event featured an open house and tour of the new two-story addition to the existing school on Elm Avenue. |
