The new Pemberton Early Childhood Center opened to students in September 2011. The 88,170-square-foot facility can accommodate 640 students in pre-kindergarten and kindergarten. The school contains 23 pre-K classrooms, including one dedicated to special education, and 13 kindergarten classrooms. It also has a combination cafeteria/auditorium, a kitchen, a staff development center and administrative space, a playground area and parking. The new one-story structure was built on an 18-acre portion of a 63-acre former farmland site off Arneys Mount Road. Under an agreement between the SDA and the State Agriculture Board, 45 acres of the site will be left undeveloped. This space is intended to be used for educational farming activities, as approved by the Pemberton Township Board of Education. Tamburro Brothers Construction Co. Inc. is the general contractor. The Design Collaborative is the design consultant. |
