The Harker Wylie Elementary School was renovated in the summer of 2003 as part of a health and safety project. This project designed by Design Collaborative, Architects and Planners, brought the school up to health and safety codes. New windows were installed; existing vinyl asbestos tile was replaced with vinyl ceramic tile. The heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems were updated with replacement boilers and new ventilation in the corridors. A new water heater was also installed. There is now a new emergency generator as well as new exit signs and new emergency lighting. The contractor for the project was the Fletcher-Harlee Corporation. |
