Neptune Middle School received a new 14-classroom math and science wing addition to the south of the current building and increased instructional and performance space for the music program. At completion, the 3-story building is 137,000-square-feet. The building renovations included upgraded heating and ventilation and new air-conditioning, new ceilings and lighting, upgraded lavatories, media center and classroom alterations. Additionally, increased hallway space and building exits will allow for faster and smoother “class passing” between periods for grades 6 through 8.
SSP Architectural Group, Inc was the design firm for the project. Hall Building Corporation was the general contractor.
The building renovations were completed September 2004. The new addition was dedicated October 20, 2005. Gilbane Building Company managed the construction of the facility.
