Please note that a meeting of the Board of Directors of the New Jersey Schools Development Authority has been scheduled for Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. in the offices of the Authority at 32 East Front Street, 1st Floor, Trenton, New Jersey, at which time formal action may be taken.

Appropriate comments relevant to the work of the SDA will be received for the formal meeting record between October 28 and November 4, 2019. All comments should be emailed to BoardComments@njsda.gov. Commenters must include their full name, address and (if applicable) organization affiliation.

SDA also offers the public the opportunity to offer public comments during the Open portion of its Board Meetings. Pursuant to provisions of the Open Public Meetings Act, N.J.S.A. 10:4-12, SDA is entitled to permit, regulate or prohibit public participation in its meetings. SDA provides a public comment period to allow members of the public to express themselves regarding specific school facilities construction projects or SDA’s schools construction program generally. Public participation and comment shall be governed by the following rules to maintain order and prevent disruption of the meeting:
   1. Participants for the public comment portion must sign in prior to commencement of the meeting, stating their name and the reason for public comment (i.e. whether relating to a specific agenda item or a general school construction comment).
   2. A participant must be recognized by the Board Chairperson, or other presiding officer, before speaking. Each participant’s comments shall be limited to three minutes.
   3. Obscene, vulgar or indecent language is prohibited.
   4. The Chairperson/presiding officer may:
  
      a. Interrupt, warn and/or terminate a participant’s comments, questions or statement when the speaker becomes repetitive, disruptive or exceeds the three minute limit;
b. Request that a person leave the meeting if that person disrupts, obstructs, or interferes with the orderly conduct of the meeting;
c. Request the assistance of law enforcement officers in the removal of a disorderly person when that person prevents, disrupts, obstructs or interferes with the orderly conduct of the meeting; or
d. Call for a recess or an adjournment of the meeting in the event of disruption or interference with a meeting;
e. Waive these rules when necessary for the protection of privacy or to maintain an orderly Board meeting.
