The program is free of charge to all small, minority, women, and disabled veteran-owned businesses in the State of New Jersey.
General Program Information
The New Jersey Schools Development Authority’s (NJSDA) Contractor Training Program is a nine-week program designed to develop, strengthen and expand the working relationships between small New Jersey business firms and the NJSDA. The program's focus is to help better prepare small, minority, women, and disabled veteran-owned businesses to work with the NJSDA and other State entities and to provide guidance on how to find, bid on and potentially be awarded government contracts; or become part of a project team as a subcontractor. In addition, the program concentrates on helping small businesses initiate, fortify and advance a set of core skills that are crucial to operating a successful and profitable business. Sessions for this nine-week program will be held virtually and will offer both instruction and networking opportunities.
Participants will benefit from a business instruction curriculum in a variety of subjects, such as: marketing construction services, business planning 101, accounting for construction services, budgeting and estimating, procurement, construction project management, construction contract law, safety and how to find opportunities.
