The new high school will include 29 classrooms, 6 science labs, 2 technology labs, cafeteria/kitchen, media center, guidance and administration offices, gymnasium, auxiliary gym, locker rooms, auditorium, art and music rooms. Outside there will be track, football, softball and baseball athletic fields. The construction cost estimate for the new high school is $31 million, and of that cost, the State will cover $21.3 million through the Educational Facilities Construction and Financing Act. Barnegat voters approved financing $9.7 million of the project.

SCC has assumed the architectural contract of Thomas Associates of Princeton, the firm that designed the school. Gilbane Building Company is the project management firm, and Patock Construction Company is the general contractor for the project.

Under the Educational Facilities and Construction Financing Act, SCC is responsible for financing, designing and constructing all of the school facilities projects in the State's 30 special needs districts and in districts like Barnegat, which receive 55 percent or more in State funding for education.
